Pharm.D & Pharm.D (PB)

The Pharm.D (Doctor of Pharmacy) course in India is a six-year professional doctoral program that includes five years of academic study and one year of internship or residency.

It is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of clinical pharmacy, focusing on patient care and medication management.The course covers various aspects such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, which includes medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and pharmaceutics, and Clinical Pharmacy, which focuses on therapeutic drug monitoring and clinical research.To be eligible for the Pharm.D course, candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (or Mathematics) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

The Pharm.D course includes significant laboratory and hospital training components. During the program, students undergo practical training in laboratories and gain hands-on experience in hospital settings. The curriculum also includes a one-year hospital internship, which is a crucial part of the training, providing students with real-world experience in clinical pharmacy settings.This hospital training is designed to prepare students for roles such as clinical pharmacists, hospital pharmacy directors, and other specialized positions in healthcare.
